Education
I am currently a graduate student at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. I am one course away from my MA degree in global and comparative history! After one comp exam and one thesis, I will graduate in May of 2016. So I have most of the hard work behind me. My GPA is 3.9. Before Rutgers, I completed one year of graduate work at George Washington University. I did well there and had a 4.0 GPA, but I had to transfer back home because living in DC was more expensive than I had anticipated. For my undergraduate degree, I went to Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. I started out as an education major and was fortunate enough to take multiple education courses (as well as gain great experience in classrooms). I eventually changed my major to just history, because the education curriculum was very strict and did not allow room for electives, and I wanted to take foreign languages and interdisciplinary honors seminars as a student. To study history in graduate school, you need foreign language proficiency and lots of research/writing experience, so it was the best move for my career to leave the education program. However, teaching is still very much in my heart. I graduated Rider in 2012 with a 3.8 GPA.
Experience
In college, I tutored history, economics, and German for my entire senior year. I was professionally trained by the CRLA-certified Student Success Center at Rider University. I taught groups as well as one-on-one instruction, and attended a wide variety of supplementary training seminars. I scored a 1520 on my SAT (which admittedly is not the best, but I took this back in 2007, before I had committed myself to education whole-heartedly). For my GRE, I got a 151 in math , but I got a 156 (80th percentile) in verbal and a 4.5 (80th percentile) in analytical writing. At Rider, I took so many relevant courses! But my favorites were Contexts of Schooling and Educational Psychology.

Hobbies
I am fluent in German, and I am still trying to become fluent in Polish and Russian. I am an animal lover and I frequently work with (and volunteer/fundraise for) local shelters in my area. I am quite the bookworm, but I am also an artist. My friends often say that if there is a blank piece of paper near me, I am itching to fill it with artwork or words. In short, I am intelligent, compassionate, creative, and outgoing.
