I am lucky enough to have experienced over twenty years of teaching, and it has been helped me grow not only as a teacher, but also as a person. The greatest feeling for me is witnessing a student gain self-confidence after establishing a solid grasp on a subject they had previously found difficult. I hold a Ph.D. in English from Binghamton University, an achievement that enables me to confidently tutor my students in areas such as advanced essay writing, creative writing, and strong reading comprehension skills. I earned my M.A. and D.E.A. through study at the University of Chicago and the University of Paris VII. I also hold a B.A. in English and Art History from Rutgers College. I have worked with students of many grades and levels, although I have spent my years primarily tutoring high school and undergraduate students. In addition to English, I have also had great success in helping students prepare for the SAT and AP English. I am also extremely confident with the French language, and studied comparative literature for some time. I tend to adapt my teaching style to fit with the personality of my students, as I believe that everyone learns in their own unique way.
